As a Spray Booth Operative at Togel Contractors, you’ll be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying finishes and inspecting completed work against project requirements. Working closely with the joinery team, you’ll help ensure components move through the finishing process efficiently and are ready for the next stage.

You’ll take a methodical approach to each task, checking that surfaces are properly prepared and that the correct products, equipment and application methods are used. Attention to detail will be essential, from achieving an even coating to spotting imperfections before finished items leave the spray area.

This role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in the quality of their finish and understands the importance of maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing surfaces: Sand, clean and mask joinery components, checking that surfaces are suitable for coating.

• Preparing finishing materials: Measure, mix and prepare coatings in line with manufacturers’ instructions and the requirements of the job.

• Setting up equipment: Prepare spray guns and associated equipment, checking settings and carrying out trial applications where required.

• Applying finishes: Apply primers, paints, lacquers or other specified coatings evenly, working towards the required colour, coverage and finish.

• Checking quality: Inspect work for issues such as runs, uneven coverage or surface contamination, and carry out appropriate corrections.

• Managing drying and handling: Follow specified drying and curing times, handling and storing components carefully to protect finished surfaces.

• Maintaining equipment: Clean spray equipment, carry out routine checks within your training and report faults or maintenance requirements.

• Organising work: Coordinate with colleagues on priorities, communicate progress and flag anything that could affect completion times.

• Working safely: Follow the relevant risk assessments, COSHH procedures and site rules, including requirements for extraction, protective equipment and respiratory protection.

• Keeping the area tidy: Maintain good housekeeping and follow procedures for storing materials and disposing of waste.
